There’s at least two things you can take away from this.
For one Steve Lonegan is the only sad sack candidate that wants to be seen with Christie right now, and secondly it appears that Sarah Palin and Rick Perry weren’t available on such short notice.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) is scheduled to make an appearance at a Thursday fundraiser for Steve Lonegan, who lost the New Jersey Senate race to Cory Booker and is now running for a House seat in Southern New Jersey. [...]
Christie has held zero public events since last week when one of his top aides was implicated in the closure of lanes on the George Washington Bridge.
As I’m sure you recall, Steve Lonegan said “bring it on” before the GOP Government Shutdown of 2013…
“If it takes some government shut down to put America back on track, let’s do it, bring it on, bring it on.”
…and then blamed the shutdown for his campaign’s failure.
“If I had known it was going to happen and that it was going to be handled so badly in Washington, I wouldn’t have run for Senate.”
There’s still time for Christie to cancel his scheduled appearance, but the fact that he was ever scheduled to begin with is embarrassing.
