Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee spoke to Iowa radio host Steve Deace on Friday and stood by his fantasy of pretending to be transgender so he can look at high school girls in the shower.
“And by the way, Steve, I take nothing back from that speech,” he added. “I’m kind of glad it’s posted because people, if they watch the whole clip, what they’re going to see is that I’m giving a commonsense answer to the insanity that’s going on out there. Because I hear people, everybody wants to be politically correct, everybody wants to be loved by the media and loved by the left and loved by the elitists. But, you know, I know I’m not going to be, so let’s just get it over with. I’d rather be a commonsense candidate for people who did take their brains to work today.”
We live in quite a world, don't yet? Huckabee is right to say that there is "insanity that's going on out there," but the insanity is partisan.
One of our two major political parties is represented by shameless creepers who fantasize about teen girls and make excuses for child molestation while condemning gay and transgender people as the real threat to society. The same party, the Republican party, is represented by unhinged yokels who say rape is only a concern for the first few months of a pregnancy and that Advanced Placement U.S. History will make you want to join ISIS. This party, the ghost of the Confederacy, also routinely makes excuses for police brutality and the unjustified killing of minorities.
Conservatism is a mental illness.
The choice in 2016 could be more clear than it has ever been. You're either with the lunatic fundamentalists or you're not.
