Company Aided by Scott Walker’s Failed Jobs Program Sends Jobs to Mexico

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), Governor Scott Walker's failed job creation program, handed $370,000 in tax credits to the Eaton Corporation which is outsourcing jobs to Mexico for a third time.

Eaton previously laid off 163 employees in Wisconsin in 2013 and 93 employees earlier this year and, despite his insistence, the Walker administration has done nothing to bring jobs or the money back.

Monday's layoffs come just four months after Eaton announced it was ending the production of printed circuit boards at its Watertown facility and sending that work to Tijuana, Mexico. That will result in 93 layoffs by the end of the year.

After those layoffs, Gov. Scott Walker told 27 News on April 30 he had instructed WEDC officials to work with Eaton to claw back some of the money they had awarded to the company. But the WEDC Board has had two meetings since those April layoffs and has yet to discuss the Eaton outsourcing. On July 20, a WEDC official told 27 News no such claw back had occurred yet.

This must undoubtedly be the lowest of low-hanging fruit for Donald Trump to yank on. This seems like the kind of news a rival presidential campaigns dreams of.

I don't expect any of the other Republican candidates will knock Walker for this because they're still deeply ensconced in the billionaire primary.
