But just a quick a note to any very serious haircuts who might be passing through... There are two parties in Congress. The Republican Party is one of them. And I hear-tell that every time the Democrats want to pass a law to give children free health insurance or to reduce military tours of duty or to solve the climate crisis or to tax oil companies, the Republicans block or "filibuster" the legislation. Sometimes the Republican president vetoes it.
Our Democratic leadership is often pasty and ineffectual, but the Republicans own much of this disapproval number.
