Everything is funny to me today.
A group of rural poultry farmers who voted for Trump are banding together to file a lawsuit against the Trump regime because Trump reversed an Obama-era rule allowing small farms to sue their corporate overlords.
Under the old rules, independent farmers who wanted to challenge their corporate benefactors had to prove that corporations harmed farmers across the entire industry rather than just one individual farm. The Department of Agriculture under President Obama lowered the bar so that farmers only had to prove that their own farm was harmed, but the Trump regime recently eliminated it.
Farmers are now suing because they want the Obama-era rule.
The petition by the farmers was filed Dec. 14 with the U.S. Court of Appeals in St. Louis.
“I’m quite disappointed in the fact that the president hasn’t followed through on promises to help the little guy, including family farmers,” said Mike Weaver, a poultry farmer in West Virginia, president of the Organization for Competitive Markets and self-proclaimed Trump voter. “If it takes legal action to accomplish things that should be done otherwise, then that’s what we’re going to do.” [...]
Weaver isn’t ready to commit to changing his political leanings, but he’s considering it. “If we can’t get the support from the Congress or the administration that we think farmers deserve, it’s certainly going to affect the way we vote,” he said. “If they won’t support us, we’ll see if we can get somebody who will.”
Trump isn't really helping the little guy? You don't say!
Maybe it was a bad idea to vote for a fucking fraud in a party of frauds.
