If you’re out of toilet paper, House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa has a report for you.
In his new report on the ongoing nothinburger IRS “scandal,” Issa admits that the IRS scrutinized liberal and Tea Party groups, but he claims Tea Party groups faced tougher scrutiny.
Personally I see nothing wrong with that, and while Issa and his colleagues would almost certainly disagree, that was never the point of this witch hunt.
The point was to show the administration ordered the IRS to apply extra scrutiny and there is absolutely no evidence of that.
If we’re being real; if Tea Party groups were in fact watched more closely, it was probably based on common sense.
Tea Party Patriots Against Paying Taxes* would be a red flag to any responsible person charged with oversight. And I don’t mean the kind of factually-challenged oversight Darrell Issa employs.
Democrats for Paying Taxes and Building Infrastructure* doesn’t seem quite as suspicious.
