It's just one poll so you can take it with a large grain of salt, but it's possible -- and it does seem plausible to me -- that we live in a world where the former grand wizard of the Klan is slightly more electable than Donald Trump.
A new poll conducted by the University of New Orleans shows that 14 percent of black voters would vote for David Duke, which is a lot higher than Trump's 1 percent support among black voters.
David Duke, a former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard running for an open Senate seat in Louisiana polled 14 percent support among black voters in the state, according to a survey by the University of New Orleans' Survey Research Center. [...]
The poll only asked respondents whether they would vote for Duke, but didn't ask about any of the other candidates.
I was going to make a joke about people preferring David Duke's honest racism to Trump's slumlord racism, but Trump has been openly and earnestly racist plenty of times. Trump spent most of a month attacking a "Mexican" judge who was born in Indiana right down the street from Guy Whitey Corngood.
Maybe some people feel like David Duke has put his money where his mouth is while Donald's money is never where his mouth is.
