If it were anyone else you could write this off as a brain fart, but this is Trump.
Trump spoke to Fox News yesterday and said our 42nd and 44th presidents were both outplayed by the leader of North Korea.
“But, you know, they’ve been talking with this gentleman for a long time,” Trump said. “You read Clinton’s book, he said, ‘Oh, we made such a great peace deal,’ and it was a joke. You look at different things over the years with President Obama. Everybody has been outplayed, they’ve all been outplayed by this gentleman. And we’ll see what happens. But I just don’t telegraph my moves.”
Trump's use of "this gentlemen" indicates that he believes the same person has ruled North Korea since the 1990s.
I suppose you could afford Trump the benefit of a doubt, but that only raises more questions because President Obama actually dealt with two distinct "gentlemen," not one. Former North Korean ruler Kim Jong Il died in 2011.
But that's not the only thing Trump is seemingly ignorant about. North Korea's first nuclear weapons test occurred in 2006 during the Bush administration, but George W. Bush was mysteriously excluded from Trump's list of president's who've been "outplayed" by the ruler of North Korea.
I'm inclined to believe Trump couldn't name more than a handful of other world leaders, and he could probably only name the ones he hates. I'm also skeptical that he could spell any of their names.
