I've received more than a few e-mails from Obama supporters who are freaked out by the insane amount of red on this county-by-county election map:
That's a lot of red. But here's what the map looks like if we exclude counties with populations between zero and 50 people per square mile:
And in defense of the sparsely populated counties, more rural Americans voted for President-elect Obama (45 percent) than any Democratic presidential candidate since at least 1976.
