As Sargent writes, the establishment media is enabling the president's ridiculous, "I don't know -- the biggest regret of all the presidency has to have been the intelligence failure in Iraq," excuse.
Of course this excuse is like saying, "My biggest regret was when that school bus filled with children got in the way of my swerving car (when I was driving drunk)." And, naturally, he ignores the fact that his administration cherry-picked the intel, lied to the world, and listened to a scam artist named Ahmed Chalabi.
But the press is almost equally as motivated to revise and obfuscate history. Over the next couple of months, expect a lot more revisionism from both the president and the establishment media.
The battle to write the final draft of the history of the Bush years is on.
