Representative Chris Stewart (R-UT) has directly compared Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, but he's warming up to him.
Stewart also recently called for Trump to drop out of the race and allow Mike Pence to lead the GOP ticket, but now he says he'll vote for Trump.
"At that time I was so disappointed in Trump that I did ask him to step down, and I did think that Mike Pence should be our leader. But, you know, that didn’t happen, and Mr. Trump is still the nominee," he said, referring to his statement calling on Trump to step aside over his comments on the 2005 tape.
It's interesting that nearly the entire Utah delegation walked away from Trump after video surfaced of him bragging about sexual assault on the set of Access Hollywood, but one by one they've crawled back to Trump's side.
It remains to be seen what voters in Utah will do, but any principles or convictions they may have clearly aren't shared by their elected congressmen.
Taken at face value, we can infer that some Republicans, perhaps even a majority of them, would vote for a true fascist over Hillary Clinton and probably any other Democrat. What does that say about Republicans other than they are also fascists?
