On this day in history, October 3, 2008, Sarah Palin sat for a post-vice presidential debate interview with Fox News Channel's Carl Cameron. After famously bungling a description of the role of the vice president during the debate, the donkey napping under a shady tree that passes for Palin's brain churned out this gibberish:
Q: One of the things you talked about last night was the flexibility the vice president has--
PALIN: Yeah.
Q: --Uh. What did you mean by that?
PALIN: Uh. That thankfully our founders were wise enough to say we have this position and it's constitutional -- vice president will be able to be not only the position flexible, but it's gonna be those other duties as assigned by the president. A simple thing.
Not only did she fail to correctly describe the role of the vice president again -- the job she was running for! -- but she did so in a completely incoherent way. Again. "Vice president will be able to be not only the position flexible?" Sheesh. That reads like most of her word salad tweets, come to think of it.
