On the September 22 broadcast of his syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh baselessly claimed that Sen. Barack Obama is "not black," and went on to ask: "Do you know he has not one shred of African-American blood?" Limbaugh continued: "He's Arab. You know, he's from Africa. He's from Arab parts of Africa. ... [H]e's not African-American. The last thing that he is is African-American."
BooMan reminds us that Limbaugh boasts 14 million listeners per week. 14 million people learned from Limbaugh yesterday that Senator Obama isn't black, but, in fact, an Arab (read that: Muslim; read that: Terrorist). However desperate, impotent and crazy Limbaugh might be -- it's a lie. And it's a lie that resonates -- especially with casual observers of this election.
Again, I stand by my claim that the reason why the polls are so close is due to far-right talk radio and far-right cable news shows that are spreading these lies and rumors about the senator.
The fire-eaters are back. But Rush Limbaugh is worse. He's a virus.
