Maine Governor Paul LePage has a great idea on how to keep immigrants out — build the Great Wall of America. You know, just like China did.
Maine Gov. Paul LePage (R) suggested that if a fence can’t be built high enough to keep illegal immigrants from coming into the country, then one idea is to look to how the Great Wall of China was built. [...]
“They are going to our schools, and that’s a real problem for me,” LePage said. “If we can’t build a fence high enough…we ought to go to China and see how they built a wall.”
Construction of certain segments what is now known as the Great Wall of China began sometimes in the B.C. period and it was built to protect the nation and it’s assets from invasion.
Is LePage comparing modern undocumented immigrants to ancient, nomadic thieves, warlords and marauders?
John McCain’s 2010 call to ‘build the danged fence’ was just the start.
