High Water Mark of the Recovery

Lots of solid economic news today. 192,000 new jobs. Unemployment finally dipped below nine to 8.9 percent. In total, the Obama administration has created 1.5 million jobs in the last year.

However, if the Republicans get their austerity, nearly half of those 1.5 million jobs will be lost again, according to Zandi's numbers. 700,000 out of 1.5 million jobs -- gone.

So not only are the Republicans screeching about how today's news isn't good enough, they're also planning to kill half of the jobs that have been created.

Nevertheless, if there's a compromise and the spending cuts are actually passed by both the Republicans and the White House, we could be nearing the high water mark of the recovery and a backslide will surely begin. It's math. It's basic economics. And the Republicans will probably blame Planned Parenthood.
