See, normally when a politician runs for president, they begin by spreading good will in Iowa. They deliver speeches to whatever group of yokels will take them. They attend small gatherings and picnics. They basically whore themselves all across the state for no other reason than to eat corn on the cob and to prove that they're serious about Iowa.
But not Sarah Palin. She demanding $100,000 to speak at an Iowa Family Policy Center event and, naturally, party leaders there are "wincing":
But representatives from other Iowa-based political advocacy groups said they would never consider shelling out money for what many politicians see as a privilege: the opportunity to speak to a room full of sure-fire caucus-goers who often serve as precinct captains and can be instrumental to a presidential candidate’s success.
It's not that she doesn't get it. She's just greedy. She's acting like a has-been reality show contestant. To wit, John Cole has the blogotube quote of the day: "This isn’t a credible politician. It’s a Jerry Springer episode."
