So let me get this straight.
McCain seriously effed up in that Spanish-language radio interview and said that he wasn't sure if he'd meet with Prime Minister Zapatero -- not realizing that Zapatero is the prime minister of Spain. An ally of the United States. In other words, McCain thought Zapatero was some sort of Central or South American dictator.
And now, McCain's gaffe has apparently become part of his foreign policy. Randy Sheunemann:
"Senator McCain refused to commit to a White House meeting with President Zapatero in this interview."
It's, "I meant to do that," only with serious diplomatic consequences.
