Hardball just made me shout loud obscenities at the television.
Howard Fineman -- with a straight face -- said that inside-Washington conventional wisdom about Judge Sotomayor has been shaped by ridiculous attacks from Rush Limbaugh, Tom Tancredo and Glenn Beck.
I don't really know which part enrages me more. A middle-aged establishment press guy talking about "conventional wisdom" or that the conventional wisdom came from wingnuts, racists and maniacs. Or that it's all in the context of the president, in an interview with Brian Williams, "walking back" (sort of) the judge's remarks about being a Latina woman. (The president defended the speech and the point Judge Sotomayor was making, however he said that in hindsight she might've stated it differently. Oy.)
Adding... And now Tom Tancredo is on television -- again -- screaming gibberish at David Shuster. I know his crazy is bad for the Republicans, but what has he done recently to win him so much airtime all over cable news? Other than being a crazy race-baiting former congressmember? Underscore "former."
