If you're wondering what happened to Kansas state employees over the weekend, wonder no more; thousands of employees were informed that they would be furloughed, however the legislature passed a bill at the 11th hour that declared all state employees to be "essential" employees.
The legislature still hasn't sent a bill to the governor's desk to plug a $400 million hole beginning July 1st. The state Senate has passed a bill that would reshuffle the fiscal deck, but the House has not approved it.
Programming note... it's possible I could be delayed tomorrow. I have to have a new muffler installed on my car which should only take 30 minutes but, you know, shit happens.
