I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to unravel this issue and, for the life of me, I can't figure out why the Obama administration is so hell bent and determined to get legal clearance for the assassination of an American citizen -- denying that citizen, Anwar Awlaki, due process of law.
The Anwar Awlaki situation is a disgrace and the sooner the administration unfucks itself and realizes that this is an atrocity against American values and the Constitution, the sooner we can leave the ugliness of post-9/11 paranoia and fear behind.
Regardless of what Awlaki has done and who his friends are -- none of it is worthy of abandoning our values. Shame on the administration. History will not look favorably upon this episode.
