It’s more than a little frustrating to observe accusations from the far-left that the president is too moderate, while the far-right claims he’s too liberal. Voters, on the other hand, believe he’s squarely liberal but not too liberal.
This is one of many myths compiled in a post by Georgetown University’s Dan Hopkins and George Washington University’s Danny Hayes and John Sides in which they debunk the lingering myth that the Republican Party is nearing extinction. But I thought it was fascinating to see how actual voters pegged the president’s record and it’s just about where I’ve always thought it was.
