Secretary of State John Kerry’s appearance before the House Witch Hunter Committee has been postponed and it’s possible he won’t appear at all.
Jen Psaki, a State Department spokeswoman, said Monday night that Kerry will be in Mexico May 21 on a previously scheduled trip, and that the department is working with the committee to “explore whether there are better means of addressing the Committee’s interests, including through a more appropriate witness.”
She said there has been no deal on arrangements for an alternative date.
John Kerry is scheduled to be out of the country on the date Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa originally chose to subpoena him and, as you might imagine, Kerry is not inclined to alter his schedule to please Darrell Issa.
This is good news for Issa. It would be great news for Issa if John Kerry doesn’t appear at all because I’m certain he would make Issa look like the blathering jackass that he is.
