And somehow there's a real chance the Republicans will take control of Congress -- halting everything except lots and lots of investigations. Then the wingnuts and firebaggers will scream about how nothing is getting done and it's all President Obama's fault.
I will never fully accept the incongruity between what's been done and how's it's being regarded. For years I wondered why liberalism/progressivism tends to lose more than it wins, and the last year or so has, sadly, answered a lot of questions. Progressives have a self-defeating strain and it's infuriating to observe (obviously).
Also, cheers to Maddow for routinely illustrating what I've been calling "smart accountability." Her approach is rare, but very, very welcome.
