House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy continued his week-long apology tour at a press conference this morning where he accused critics of "playing politics."
“Let’s be very clear: Benghazi is not political,” McCarthy said. “It was created for one purpose and one purpose only: to find the truth on behalf of the families of the four dead Americans. Period.” [...] “The integrity of [committee chairman Rep.] Trey Gowdy, the integrity of the work that has been done has never come into question and it never should be. Stop playing politics,” he added.”
That's the joke.
The man who openly admitted they created the Select Benghazi Committee to tackle an "unbeatable" Hillary Clinton, and then directly credited the committee for sinking her poll numbers, says his opponents need to "stop playing politics."
If Republicans ever stopped playing politics, I don't know what they'd do.
