As Tropical Storm soon-to-be Hurricane Isaac takes aim at New Orleans on the seven-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, I'd like to remind you that the GOP tried to cut $1.2 billion from NOAA's budget last year which would have eroded the agency's ability to accurately track hurricanes.
And yes, if Isaac remains on its current path, it will hit New Orleans on the morning of August 29th. Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the morning August 29th.
