Make America Hate Again

In other news, Doctor Ben Carson says a Muslim should never be president because Sharia Law is not "consistent with the Constitution of this country." He's right about that, but that doesn't explain why Carson is calling for replacing the tax code with biblical tithing.

For his part, Carson's campaign manager reminds us that 80 percent of primary voters agree with him and Trump.

Meanwhile, Carly Fiorina says she shouldn't be held responsible for illegal sales to Iran because she didn't know about it during her time as CEO, but...

A 2008 Boston Globe investigation found that, while U.S. companies were banned from selling goods to Iran, an Indian company in Dubai called Redington Gulf had sold HP printers there. They sold them so well, in fact, that HP had 41 percent market share in Iran by 2007. Redington Gulf obtained the printers through a European subsidiary.

Wallace asked Fiorina why HP had named Redington Gulf its "Wholesaler of the Year" award in 2003 if the company wasn't aware of its sales to Iran, Fiorina again deflected blame.

Finally, the Kansas City Star updates us on the jobs situation under the Sam Brownback administration.

During his re-election campaign, Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback last August pledged to add 100,000 new private sector jobs in his second term. That’s an average of 2,000 jobs a month. [...]

In the seven months since then, the state has added a total of ... drum roll ... 1,800 private sector jobs, according to the August employment report from the state and the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.

That’s around 260 jobs a month, far below the 2,000 per month goal.

That’s a puny growth rate of less than .2 percent so far this year.

I feel like we've seen this story before: a governor who promises a wave of job creation will wash over the state in the wake of his signature tax cuts.

Is that you, Scott Walker?
