Oh, why not? People just love hearing all about how conservatives are the true champions of marriage equality, even though liberals invented “Free love.” Or that it is the conservative position to decriminalize marijuana, decades after Hippies practically invented weed.
From The Huffington Post:
Meghan McCain will host her own show entitled “Raising McCain” on Pivot, a new cable channel launching in August.
The show will follow McCain as she goes on the road, and film her interactions with guests. “I keep telling people it’s like ‘Meet the Press’ meets ‘Jackass,‘” McCain, the daughter of former presidential candidate John McCain, described at Pivot’s upfront on Wednesday.
Brilliant. Political discussions that may or may not end with someone getting kicked in the balls by a giant clown shoe.
According to Meghan McCain, it’s going to be “uncensored” and “real.”
Pivot, is the network brainchild of billionaire entrepreneur, Jeff Skoll, and Pivot network president, Evan Shapiro, who brags of 40 million potential viewers in the 18-34 age group, lays out the agenda:
“The mandate of Pivot is entertainment that inspires social change and our target is millennials, but other than that we are a general entertainment network with all types of content: drama, comedy, talk and documentaries.”
Aside from reruns of the network drama, Friday Night Lights and Sci-Fi Channel’s hand-me-down episodes of Farscape, Pivot plans to include, Little Mosque on the Prairie– “a long-running Canadian sitcom focused on a Muslim community in a fictional Saskatchewan prairie town.” Evan Shapiro said, “It has never been seen in the United States because the word ‘mosque’ is in the title.”
It’s so edgy it’s practically pregnant Lucy, or The Smothers Brothers.
Other than that, there’s going to be a variety show hosted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt; from writer Craig Pearce, in what is being described as, “a fanciful drama titled “Will,” about a young, as-yet-unproven William Shakespeare that mashes up his era with modern times and is billed as a blend of “Deadwood,” “8 Mile” and “Shakespeare in Love.”
That might not be too bad, but where are the zombies, man? We need zombies!
As well as a show called “Jersey Strong” from the producers of Brick City, the Pivot network is banking on something called, the “Passionate millenials,” for their primary target audience, obviously because they get their news and information injected directly into their veins.
Starting August 1, 2013, you’ll get to hear up and coming political guru, Meghan McCain, ponder the future of her generation and what this opportunity means to her, saying at the big big roll-out, ”We’re told … that young people can’t have news because we’re just tweeting all the time, and that’s just bullshit.”
Yeah! It’s bullshit! See how “uncensored” and “real” she is? The kids today with their rebellious conformity.
So, look out, Snookie generation! Meghan McCain’s vessel is ready to take this Craptastic voyage all the way– deep into the hearts and minds of your 18-34 year old version political discourse. Permission to die slowly.
