Desperate for drama in a race where Romney is absolutely the presumptive nominee, the press is pushing a brand new "LOOK OUT! Santorum could win some states -- WEEEEEE!" narrative.
Maybe he'll win a state or two today. Evidently, he's polling second in Colorado and first in Minnesota and Missouri. But he doesn't have a chance in hell of winning the nomination. The Republicans will not nominate a far-right ideologue who's most recent non-primary electoral showing was a crushing defeat in a major swing state.
I know, I know. Cable news and the rest will forever and always inflate and fabricate political drama, etc, etc. But maybe is we hector them enough they'll start to cover issues and policy.
Maybe?
Adding... I tweeted this to Very Serious Chuck Todd during the Super Bowl hoping to pester him to respond:
"Ironically, in his living room right now @ChuckTodd is discussing the football game like a very wonky public policy analysis."
He didn't respond.
