(CHICAGO) President-elect Obama spoke to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Saturday as the future American leader had another round of phone calls with leaders in other nations.
For the first time in eight years, a news item like this didn't make me nervous or embarrassed -- nervous, as in worrying that our president asked the Russian president to pull his finger or some such hijinkery; embarrassed, as in worrying that our president asked the Russian president to pull his finger or some such hijinkery.
Something tells me our president-elect didn't give Medvedev a wacky frat nickname, either.
