Senator Minority Leader Harry Reid was clearly being facetious, but he's right -- this is where we're at now.
"I'm heartened ... that a few Republicans, seven to be exact, didn't sign the letter. That's nice. Seven out of 54, certainly seven better than nothing," Reid said from the Senate floor. [...]
Republican Sens. Bob Corker (Tenn.), Susan Collins (Maine), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Dan Coats (Ind.), Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Thad Cochran (Miss.) did not sign the letter.
During previous times it may have been the other way around and just seven out of 54 would have signed the letter and we could dismiss it as a fringe position, but that is not the case today.
In today's Republican party, the overwhelming majority of their senators and most of their presidential prospects have openly allied themselves with adversaries of the United States because Obama.
Recent events aren't necessarily a shock to anyone who pays close attention. A not-insignificant number of congressional Republicans still believe the president is a Manchurian candidate secret Muslim saboteur. Also a socialist, Marxist dictator king and possibly the anti-Christ who was born in Kenya.
I don't think this Republican party stands a chance in 2016.
