I’m sure you can imagine how the above Fox & Friends segment screencaptured by ThinkProgress transpired.
During this “sage advice” segment, women were advised that they need to stop referring to rape as rape just because those darn feminists tell them to. What you think is rape is actually “mistake sex.”
And who’s to blame for society’s unappreciative attitude towards men? “Antagonistic feminists,” of course. Patton argues that activists has forced an “overcorrection” to American culture, in which society has gone from completely ignoring women’s rights to becoming overly sensitive to their needs. In one particularly strange example, Patton has complained that the rape that occurs between acquaintances — commonly referred to as “date rape” — should be called “mistake sex” to avoid diminishing “the true horror of rape.”
Date rape is not a mistake. That’s why it’s called “rape.” Rape, which implies that one party was unwilling or unable to consent, is not a mistake.
Prior to dispensing the timeless wisdom that date rape is actually “mistake sex,” Fox guest Susan “Princeton Mom” Patton advised women that they should abandon the idea of finding a new husband after the age of thirty because, if they don’t, they could end up like their aunt who is too busy “feeding cats” to find a husband.
In short — you must properly appreciate and respect your husband and pour his drinks for him or else you could become a crazy cat lady.
“Good advice,” Doocy beamed at the end of the Fox segment.
