I can't imagine how Donald Trump became the Republican presidential nominee, can you?
House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz appeared on Fucks & Friends this morning where he said President Obama cares more about attacking Republicans than terrorists.
"When you want to see the president fired up, it's when he's talking about Republicans. It's not when he's going out and talking about defeating ISIS and protecting the United States of America," Chaffetz said Wednesday morning on "Fox and Friends." [...]
Speaking at a rally Tuesday in Greensboro, N.C., Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, said Obama was angrier with him than with the nightclub shooter.
While President Obama walks softly and carries a big stick, Republicans stomp their feet and carry a wet noodle.
At the direction of the president, American forces have hit thousands of targets in ISIS-held territory. House Republicans, meanwhile, cannot even be bothered to pass a new Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) tailored for the current situation. It seems almost certain they will not pass an AUMF before the president leaves office.
As we've discussed, no evidence that's been released to the public clearly demonstrates the Orlando shooter had any real ties to ISIS. The shooter was investigated by the FBI in recent years, but that did not prevent him from buying an assault rifle. President Obama has called for closing this gap in gun control.
If we're being real, I personally am more concerned about the threat posed by Republicans than any terrorist organization, and I believe everyone should be because men like Donald Trump and Speaker Paul Ryan actually do pose an existential threat to America as we know it today. That is not, however, the real implication of Donald Trump or Jason Chaffetz. Their implication is that President Obama is anti-American Manchurian candidate.
This isn't a debate about state policy or priorities, it's a dogwhistle.
