Americans continue to overwhelmingly support the public option:
A new study by SurveyUSA puts support for a public option at a robust 77 percent, one percentage point higher than where it stood in June.
And this one is several days old, but I realized I hadn't posted anything about it:
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 57% oppose the plan if it doesn't include a government-run health insurance plan to compete with private insurers.
But for some reason the public option has become the whipping boy in this process.
I still believe there's a strong moral argument to make for the public option, too. If you don't want to finance the private insurance mafia, this is the only alternative.
