Possible Domestic Terrorism Linked to Jade Helm in Mississippi, North Carolina

Two men opened fire at military service members at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi this afternoon, a facility that is hosting the Jade Helm training exercise.

From The Clarion Ledger

Perry County Sheriff Jimmy Dale confirmed to The Clarion-Ledger that shots were fired at approximately 12:10 p.m. at soldiers who were training in the area. No injuries were reported. Smith said his agency has "a few good leads" in the shooting. Authorities are searching for two white male suspects in a two-door red Ford Ranger with "Broken Arrow" written across the top.

WDAM reported that Lt. Col. Christian Patterson at Camp Shelby said shots were fired as the truck drove past the base and soldiers were in the area.

The motives of the men who opened fire at Camp Shelby won't be entirely clear until they've been apprehended, but given that the camp is hosting the Jade Helm training exercise, you may not need many guesses.

In a separate incident, three men were arrested in North Carolina over the weekend for stockpiling explosives in preparation for Jade Helm and martial law.

[Suspects] Litteral and Campbell didn't approve of the exercise and for several months began collecting military gear like radios with throat microphones, armored vests, grenades, ammunition and assault rifles in preparation for going to war, according to court documents.

Campbell told someone he and Litteral have a base camp on 99 acres of land in Clover, South Carolina, and "intend to booby-trap the camp and draw government forces into the camp and kill them," according to court records.

You certainly can't say no one saw this coming. We did. And I suspect these won't be the last cases of domestic terrorism linked to Jade Helm before the training exercise is complete.

Republican pundits and elected government officials, including the governor of Texas, have fanned the flames of hysteria. There are thousand of heavily armed wingnuts out there who fancy themselves as stars of the next Red Dawn and they've been systematically mislead and egged on by voices of authority and the conservative entertainment complex.

So far no one has been hurt, but that may not last.
