Donald Trump might be slightly too far to the left for Carlos Beruff, a man who is running to take Marco Rubio's place in the United States Senate.
Beruff is an equal opportunity discriminator in that he believes we must ban everyone from Middle Eastern countries, not just Muslims.
How exactly would his criteria be applied?
He said he would apply the ban to people from many countries. "Pretty much anybody that's got a terrorist organization in it, which is pretty much all the Middle East." Asked about Israel, he said the ban wouldn't apply to people from that country. "I think Israel's security measures are pretty strong," he said. "Israel is an exception."
Although the original question from the audience member was about "Muslim immigration," Beruff said in the interview that his ban would apply to Christians and Muslims.
Pretty much anybody(??) that's "got a terrorist organization in it." Like what, in their pants?
Fortunately for Americans, the rest of the world does not apply that standard to American tourists and ex-patriots. We have our own share of domestic terrorists who attack police officers, occupy federal facilities, and murder doctors who perform abortions.
There is a chance this man will be in the Senate next session and it seems fitting that he could replace Marco Rubio, a man who failed to ignite the base.
What if this is the eventual makeover of the GOP we expect to see at some point in the future? Unless they are content to never win the White House ever again, they have to change at some point, right? What if Trump is it? Where if Trumpism, which has been a long time coming, is the realignment?
