Regarding Glenn Beck's recent "fascism" talk, Dave Neiwert writes:
What's the most fascistic thing to appear on the American political horizon in recent months? Glenn Beck and his "912 Project" and the accompanying apocalyptic fearmongering. He's a right-wing populist, and that never seems to turn out well.
What's worse is that it won't end anytime soon. Even if Beck were to somehow realize what he's doing, he can't walk it all back. Whatever it is he's doing -- call it fascism or populism or crazy -- it's producing huge ratings. And when that happens, the response from corporate media is typically more, more, more, bigger, bigger, bigger.
