I'm taking a few days off from my usual daily column.
I love writing a longer-form piece every day, and I'm eternally grateful to The Daily Banter for making it possible, but after a tumultuous election season I need some time to fill up the tanks again. The thing I fear the most about writing so regularly is the possibility of getting stale or lazy about content, and I'd rather take some off-time now and then (this would be the second "break" of the year), rather than delivering half-assed material.
Put another way: I'm forcing myself to do this. There are definitely several things from the weekend that caught my attention, but I think I'll stick with normal blog-length posts and swing back into essay-length material shortly.
