...Except when Rick Perry signed a law making the HPV vaccine Gardasil mandatory for all 11-year-old girls.
That's $120 per vaccination of a med that hasn't really been given enough time to suss out near- and long-term side effects -- or whether or not it actually works -- whether or not the 11-year-olds in Texas will have a lower rate of cervical cancer.
The Republicans are tickled that Perry is recanting his decision because, as always, the party of misogyny thinks an HPV vaccine, like readily available birth control, is a permission slip for girls to behave like whores, assuming that women are default sluts.
Of course their excitement has nothing to do with potential harm or with Perry's mandate. And not one mention of the fact that Perry is opposed to the individual mandate for health insurance.
