In a recent AP interview, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder spoke about his role in turning around his state through right to work laws, union busting, and abolishing local government in the name of heralding in a new era of bankrupt priorities, saying:
“I deeply respect the citizens of Detroit,” he said. “They along with the other 9 million people in our state hired me to do this job. They’re my customers. This was a tough step, a difficult decision, but it’s the right decision.”
Whether it’s the right decision remains to be seen. And, as a venture capitalist, one could argue that Rick Snyder was hired by a handful of billionaires during a wave-election, but I’m sure there’s some sort of hotline you can call and a customer service representative will be right with you.
