Senator Feinstein's Ego Rage

Feinstein today:

“My position has consistently been that I believe the Agency is best-served by having an intelligence professional in charge at this time.”

Feinstein in 2004 regarding Porter Goss:

“I believe the President should have the prerogative to appoint who he wants to be the DCI..."

In fact, Porter Goss publicly admitted that he was totally unqualified to be the DCI.

I couldn't get a job with CIA today. I am not qualified. I don't have the language skills. I, you know, my language skills were romance languages and stuff. We're looking for Arabists today. I don't have the cultural background probably. And I certainly don't have the technical skills, uh, as my children remind me every day, "Dad you got to get better on your computer." Uh, so, the things that you need to have, I don't have.

Of course this has nothing to do with qualifications. It's all about ego. As I've written before, we seriously need to thin the herd.
