There’s a lot of time left between now and the 2014 election but, if this poll released today by Quinnipiac University is any indication, anyone who fancies Geraldo as a U.S. Senator may want to consider an alternative.
TRENTON — If New Jersey voters had to choose today whether to elect Newark Mayor Cory Booker or media personality Geraldo Rivera to the U.S. Senate, there wouldn’t be much of a contest, a new poll shows.
Booker leads Rivera 59-23 percent in a Quinnipiac University poll of Garden State voters released this morning. [...]
“If TV personality Geraldo Rivera is just testing the water for a U.S. Senate run in New Jersey, he might find that the water is colder than the Atlantic Ocean in February,” Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said in a statement.
In case you forgot, Geraldo said Florida teenager Trayvon Martin was asking to be shot dead by George Zimmerman because he was wearing a hoodie.
And nobody could have predicted that his reception as a possible congressional candidate would be less than well received.
