Obama revelling in U.S. power unseen in decades
Eric Boehlert points out that the article has nothing to do with "revelling" and instead is about the president gaining political influence in Washington. There's a big difference. But the part of the headline that stuck out for me was "in decades."
In the first half of 2003, the Republicans regained control of the Senate, the Iraq war "ended" (no it didn't) and George W. Bush's approval numbers hovered around 70 percent. The actions stemming from the unchecked power of the Bush administration are still being unraveled seven years later, and will continue to be for decades to come.
