In other news, U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster says Russian has begun interfering Mexico's 2018 presidential election. I guess there's no reason to doubt this. Russia has already interfered in votes and elections in the US, France, Britain, Ukraine, and now Mexico.
Meanwhile, Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) have been appointed to the Senate Judiciary Committee. This is the first time ever that more than one black lawmaker has served on the committee at the same time.
Finally, the Committee to Protect Journalists has chosen Trump as the greatest to press freedom in the world. They say they chose Trump because other world leaders are now emulating him.
The group said its awards were for “recognizing world leaders who have gone out of their way to attack the press and undermine the norms that support freedom of the media.” Though CPJ determined that countries like Russia and China hold the tightest grip on their national media, it declared Trump the winner for “overall achievement.”
Trump’s disrespect for the First Amendment is his most obvious offense, CPJ noted, and is so flagrant that leaders in other countries have adopted his “fake news” term for unflattering coverage.
