Proponents of the Jim Crow for Gays bill Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed last month (the bill her office helped draft) pointed toward a case in New Mexico where the state supreme court ruled that a photography company violated the rights of a gay couple who they refused service to.
That case was on its way to the United States Supreme Court, but the court has rejected it; affirming the ruling of the lower state supreme court.
The lower court’s ruling that the gay couple’s rights were violated will stand.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also declined to hear the case on the NSA’s metadata collection program.
(Reuters) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday turned down a long-shot request for a ruling on whether the U.S. government’s gathering of Americans’ phone records is unlawful.
The justices’ refusal to intervene means the case will go forward in the appeals court, as scheduled. [...]
The high court rarely hears an appeal before an appeals court has ruled.
The key plaintiff in the metadata collection case is Larry Klayman.
As you probably recall, Larry Klayman is completely batshit.
The file on Klayman is a mile long. He organized a rally to overthrow the government and accused CNN, the DNC, the Clintons, Obama, gay people, and Don Lemon of making him look like a lunatic. And according to him, a repeat of 1776 is already upon us.
Klayman is also a birther who believes President Obama is a secret Muslim communist. And that’s barely scratching the surface of his batshittery. If you wish to see more, you can visit him at World Net Daily or peruse his rap-sheet at Right Wing Watch.
Not to be outdone by Klayman, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) said ‘me too’ and also filed a lawsuit against the NSA
