Good news -- the government probably won't shut down tomorrow night as Trumps says he will sign the government funding bill that doesn't include money for his border wall. But, there's no guarantee it will pass through Congress tonight now that Trump says he intends to ignore it. Everything is stupid.
Bad news -- Trump is also expected to declare a "national emergency" and order the military to build a wall of some description. This is going to be a clusterfuck.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says President Donald Trump has indicated he’s prepared to sign the government funding bill and issue a national emergency on the border.
McConnell said Thursday the Senate will soon vote on the bill that’s needed to avoid a partial federal shutdown Friday.
The comprise measure keeps departments running through the fiscal year but without the $5.7 billion Trump wanted for the border wall with Mexico.
Programming note... I have some important chores and errands to take care of tomorrow and I will be offline. Monday is a federal holiday so we'll be back in action here on Tuesday.
