Mac McClelland filed this report about a pro-drilling tea party rally in Houma, Louisiana. Among other things, the predictably old white crazy people blamed the oil spill on the president, as seen on this tasteful t-shirt:
They also prayed for a lift of the deep water drilling moratorium. And the craziest quote came from one of the rally organizers:
"I've never seen CO2 in the air, have you ever seen CO2 in the air??"
But -- but -- it's not a -- CO2 is invisible -- so you can't -- oh fuck it.
Adding... I wonder if the prayers for more deep water drilling will cancel out the Louisiana Day of Prayer to end the spill.
UPDATE: Prayers answered. U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman overturned the president's moratorium on deep water drilling.
Feldman says in his ruling that the Interior Department failed to provide adequate reasoning for the moratorium. He says it seems to assume that because one rig failed, all companies and rigs doing deepwater drilling pose an imminent danger.
