Time is running out to meet our 'Ten Grand for Obama' fundraising goal of $10,000 by Election Day. We now have 3.5 days and $3,500 to go before our midnight Monday night deadline. That seems like a big hunk of cash to raise in just a few short days. But if you recall, we raised $3000 on the first day alone, so it's not impossible.
It's crucial that the Obama campaign has plenty of cash on hand to, 1) get some money to the down-ballot congressional candidates during the final push, 2) run up the score for a governing mandate, and 3) finance a legal fund in the event of any voting shenanigans.
Don't forget, the Republicans can still win this thing with the help of electronic voting machines, voter purges, polling-place intimidation, and the very real potential of a handy-dandy Bin Laden tape sometime this weekend.
So all it takes are the usual $5 and $10 donations -- larger amounts are absolutely encouraged, but not mandatory. And if you can afford to donate more than a couple of dollars, there's a space for entering amounts less than $5. Just type in the amount you can afford in the "Other" box.
Let's go!
UPDATE: Bumped above-the-fold.
