There are plenty of worthy uses for crowdsourcing from developing new products to paying hospital bills, but I’m not convinced using a service like GoFundMe to pay for your daily patrols on a rural Nevada ranch that, frankly, no one gives shit about is anything other than an embarrassment.
As you can see, the campaign isn’t going so well. They’ve only raised $170 out of their $10,000 goal as of this afternoon.
Jokes aside, it strikes me that it’s only matter of time before these nutcases resort to illegal activity and even violence to pay for their militias if they haven’t already. These people are unhinged and dangerous and domestic terrorism is a very real threat.
