The Audacity of Passing What You Campaigned On

Cruz

According to Senator Ted “Proud Wacko Bird” Cruz, President Obama is the “biggest obstacle” to passing immigration reform, and if it weren’t for him we would have already passed it. Obviously.

“A path to citizenship is the most divisive aspect of this bill,” Cruz told ABC’s Jeff Zeleny, “and the White House is insisting on it.”

“The path the White House is going down, I believe, is designed for this bill to fail,” Cruz said. “It is designed for it to sail through the Senate and then crash in the House to let the president go and campaign in 2014 on this issue.”

Why is President Obama being so divisive by insisting that we reform the entire system rather than simply passing stricter enforcement measures? Who does he think he is?

Why is he trying to force us to show our true colors by voting against a popular measure? Why does he insist on majority rule in the Senate? Is this still America? I jest.

Ted Cruz would like you to think he and his colleagues are victims, but ultimately they are responsible for the positions they take. And if we are to take Cruz’s words at face value, the implication is that the bill will fail. Or at least he expects it will, and he’s deathly afraid of taking responsibility for it.
