Is it possible that ISIS will cross into America through our southern border with Mexico?
Not only is it a possibility, they’re already here(!) according to Michele Bachmann and the car bombings should start any time now.
“I don’t want to see the car bombings and all of the havoc and chaos coming to the United States that we see in Baghdad,” she said. “Since we have the Islamic State come into the United States, we’ll see a wave of car bombings and bombings that occur here in the United States that would begin the process of destabilization to bring them to the point of defeating us here in the United States.”
While this is obviously a fantasy, the buried lede is that Michele Bachmann believes you could defeat the United States with a couple car bombs. If that were the case, I expect someone else would have tried it by now.
Republicans have engaged in quite a lot of fearmongering lately and it has been very reminiscent of the Bush era when fear was the weapon of choice. It should not be a surprise then that 2016 hopefuls have indicated that they will run on neo-con foreign policy.
To be a Republican apparently means to be an inch away from pissing your pants every single day.
Part of me will miss Michele Bachmann when she’s gone. To my knowledge, no other congressman or woman in the history of the republic has gone on the floor of the House and accused women of stopping by to get an abortion between Starbucks and the grocery store.
